Hello and welcome back to our
discussion on whether or not it is difficult to list and sell your home during
the holiday season. So we're about to embark on the final quarter of the year and
many people look at that quarter as the holiday season. So for example, at the
end of October, we have Halloween, followed by thanksgiving and then we have
Christmas and Hanukkah and
other holidays and we feel like we're just going from one thing to the next.
And so people ask me all the
time, “should I list and sell my home during the holiday season?” Well, the
truth is, people move all year long and it would be a sad thing if your home
would be perfect for someone who's looking during that holiday season and you've
kept your home off the market.
The question really becomes, “how
do you manage the things that you do during the holiday season along with the
sale of your home?” And it's really very simple. If you have something important
coming up. Maybe you have family coming in or you have a big party planned, you
can
Actually, take your home off
the market just for that day or that series of days. We can do something called
a showing restriction or we can do something called temporary off the market.
Don't be afraid to list and
sell your home during the holiday season. What you need to do is just simply
speak with your agent about which days you need to protect as family time and
then make that be part of your plan. And with a good agent and a little pre-planning,
you can make that process very easy around the holidays.
