We’re talking about putting your home on the market in the spring and what kind of renovations should you be considering if you're going to be selling your home in the early part of this year.
So, to get the biggest bang for the money that you're going to put into those renovations, you want to focus first, on your kitchen, secondly, on your primary bathroom followed by your other bathrooms and then you're going to want to look at your floors. These are the areas where when you make big changes, you can see big results.
As a side note if you have a home equity line of credit on your home, the interest on that loan is deductible. If it's attached to your primary residence so that HELOC or that home equity line of credit could be used to make those renovations so that you don't have to come out of pocket with cash and then once your home is sold, the line of credit would be paid off. So that's something to consider. If you need to make changes to your home, there are other programs that we might be able to connect you with that will help you to make those changes so you don't have to come out of pocket with the cash.
