Today we're featuring the dishwasher.
Now the dishwasher for me is the most important appliance in my kitchen because when it breaks, guess who's washing the dishes? That would be me and if yours breaks, that would be you. So why is it important to keep that dishwasher maintained? What is it about it that might break well every time you wash dishes, things are going to accumulate inside your dishwasher to include soap scum, undissolved detergent food particles and even grease.
So what you're going to want to do after every time you unload that dishwasher. Pull out that bottom rack and make sure nothing has accumulated down in the bottom of the dishwasher that you need to remove. Once in a while, someone in my household will put a ball jar, a spaghetti jar into the dishwasher with the label on it. And so sometimes I find paper label particles in my dishwasher, so remove all of the debris that you find in there after every wash and that's going to help your filter a lot. Even so once a month you need to take your filter out.
Now, if you don't know how to do that you're going to need to look in the little book that came with your dishwasher or just Google your make and model and the internet will happily tell you where that filter is. So you're going to take that filter out, put it in your sink, run hot water through it, and some dawn dish liquid and make sure that you get it super clean.
In addition to those things, check the door of your dishwasher and around the seal. Make sure nothing icky has accumulated in those places and just wipe them down with a washcloth and maybe some dawn liquid, don't use too much dawn liquid. You don't want a lot of dawn debris in your dishwasher the next time you run it. Let's see what else. Once a month, you should probably disconnect the spray arm, run it over under some hot water in your sink, and if necessary, use a toothpick to make sure that all the little holes in it are free of debris. Other than that you can buy dishwasher cleaner that might help if you have lime scale in your dishwasher will also help to freshen it in case you have any musty smells.
You can get them at the grocery store. There's one called all fresh . There's another one from cascade or again, you could return to the internet and I think you can use vinegar and baking soda to clean the inside of your dishwasher. So those are my tips for keeping your dishwasher in great running order, so you don't have to spend your valuable time washing dishes. I hope you found this information helpful and I look forward to speaking with you again soon.
