Finding out what’s going on when you move into a new town.
Well, the first thing I recommend is to ask your real estate agent if there any local websites that you should be aware of. After that, go to trusty Facebook and search for local groups for your particular town or county. And then you probably want to get online with the NextDoor app which appears to be a very active app in most places.
You can also contact the chamber of commerce and they can give you a list of all the activities that they are aware of. So there’s lots of resources online in particular that you can use. Your town may also have a newsletter, so if you’re in an incorporated town, you could call the town office and ask if they have a newsletter or any other resources that you should be looking at. Your town may also have a newspaper.
So those are some of the online and paper ways that you can find out what’s going on in your town. Another practical way is to just take several weekend drives. Ask your friends and your neighbors where’s a great place to eat or just head out, head toward the shoreline or the beach, or toward the center of town and pick a restaurant where you can eat and take notice of what’s around you and take a bunch of pictures. And ask your server at the restaurant, what are some fun things to do in town. What are some of the seasonal things that can be found in the town?
You probably have a county fair that you can go to. So many different things that you can learn about. Just open up, ask the people around you and I think you’ll find plenty of fun things to do. If you need more information, please reach out to me.
